The salon is owned and operated by hairstylist, Allison Rutledge, who has been involved in the hair and beauty industry since 2008. Allison began her career as an apprentice and learned everything from the basic cornerstones of her craft to some of the most complicated hairstyling techniques. Allison has a deep love for weddings and finds joy in helping her clients achieve the perfect look for their special day. She strives to embrace her clients' individuality so that they leave her studio looking and feeling their absolute best.
Indie Studio Collective
We are transforming our space on Mass Ave into Indie Studio Collective. You’ll still receive the same personalized care and high level of customer service you’ve come to expect, while we implement thoughtful improvements and efficiencies to make your visits smoother and more enjoyable.
Joining us in the collective are several exceptionally talented women-owned businesses, including Weld, Salty Siren, and Judey Green. The space will also feature local art throughout, creating a fresh and inspiring atmosphere for everyone.

From fades to color or your Best Day Ever hair - every client leaves my salon feeling and looking their absolute, head-turning best. I launched my talents in the cosmetology industry as an apprentice to California native, Brittin Tate,who taught her statement Art of Balayage Highlighting technique. Mastering Balayage allowed me to truly focus on creating myself and my brand. Through many years of doing military cuts, I have gotten the opportunity to master the original “Army Crew Cut” and perfect the “Fade” with men's cuts. Continuously striving for the next best trend, I added the art of bridal hair & special occasions to my resume. From a simple French Twist to a masterpiece that is bound to be framed, I began working on bridal hair, which is an art all on its own. Each individual bride has their own unique canvas.
Hi lovelies! I’m Taylor, and I’ve been passionate about the beauty industry since I was a kid. I studied cosmetology at the Aveda Institute and have spent the past year learning alongside Allison Rutledge, refining my skills and techniques. I specialize in blonding, color, cuts, and bridal styling, and I’m here to bring your vision to life—whether it’s a subtle refresh or something bold! My goal is to create a safe, welcoming space where you leave feeling confident and beautiful. When I’m not in the salon, I love spending time with family and my two ferret babies. I can’t wait to meet you and have you in my chair!

Sydney -
Sydney has been drawn to the beauty industry from an early start. She got her start as an esthetician, and after two years of esthetics, Sydney decided to pursue her cosmetology license to further her career. Sydney enjoys (but not limited to) all different types of blonding services, color transformations, and educating her clients on their hair needs. In her free time, Sydney enjoys spending time with her husband and two dogs, exploring all food spots within the city, and hanging around her family's lake house is northern Indiana.

Makeup Artist
Bessie has worked in the beauty industry for over 14 years. She began her career by working for various department store cosmetics companies and with an interest skincare, obtained her esthetics license in 2012. She started working alongside Allison Rutledge at Indie Hair Design, doing Bridal makeup in 2019 and has looked forward to wedding season ever since. Bessie loves creating custom looks and strives to make each individual look and feel like the best version of themselves on their special day.

Hello new frens! I'm Griff and have been with my hooman Allison for 5 heckin years! I spend the day assisting in everyday stuff and it can get ruff sumtimes so I takes lots of naps in between. I loves treats and looking out the window to see all the other doggos and hoomans on Mass Ave!
